About Becoming Who We Are

Becoming Who We Are was born out of a personal experience where God gave me a vision for both my life and ministry. In the summer of 2022, I embarked on what was supposed to be a dream trip with my family, traveling out west to explore the majestic landscapes of Zion National Park. Despite all my planning and excitement, I found myself unable to fully participate due to an unexpected physical limitation. I had developed plantar fasciitis and couldn’t hike the trails I had dreamt about for so long.

As I sat on the sidelines, watching others enjoy the journey I had so carefully planned, I felt overwhelmed with disappointment, frustration, and confusion. It was during that quiet, honest moment with God, sitting on the back porch of our cabin, that He began to speak to me—not just about my physical struggle but about a deeper spiritual reality.

God reminded me that we are His body, designed for connection—with Him and with each other. Yet, we are often held back by past wounds and spiritual disconnection. Our true strength comes from being united with Christ, the head of the Church. As Ephesians says, in Him we live, move, and have our being.

That moment of revelation led to a calling: to help people discover their true identity in Christ and to experience the fullness of life He has for them. Becoming Who We Are is not a program or method; it’s a way of life centered on abiding in Christ. When we learn to sit like Mary at His feet, we begin to understand our true identity in Him. From that place of connection, we walk in freedom and carry His light into the world around us. Each of us is uniquely gifted and called to minister, and through this workshop, we explore how to embrace those gifts and encourage one another as the body of Christ.

It's time to throw off the things that slow us down—the sin, the lies, and the doubts—and to run with endurance the race God has set before us. Isaiah 61 reminds us that Christ has come to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, and to turn mourning into dancing.
